The HCHC Foundation’s 12th Annual Golf Benefit was scheduled to happen on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020. But due to restrictions and concerns for our golfers and sponsors caused by COVID-19, this year’s Golf Benefit was cancelled. We are definitely planning for a return event to help celebrate Henry County Health Center’s 100th Anniversary on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

2019 M.A.D. Mayhem and M.A.D. Banquet

banquet table settingHenry County Health Center Foundation held a new kind of fundraiser culminating in a first ever event on Thursday, October 3rd, 2019. The fundraising activities were kicked off two weeks prior with M.A.D. for HCHC Mayhem, with M.A.D. standing for Make A Difference for HCHC. The mayhem events included 50/50 raffles at high school football games in New London, Winfield and Mount Pleasant, Pump-it-up Gas events at Pep Stop in Mount Pleasant and Kramer’s in Salem, and a change roundup at HyVee in Mount Pleasant. All totaled, Mayhem events raised over $2786 towards our goal.

That was followed by the first ever M.A.D. Banquet at the Union Block. Tickets were $100 per person with sponsorships available. Each person in attendance had the chance to win a trip for two to the Ark Adventure courtesy of Burlington Trailways Tours. Nearly $25,000 was raised by ticket sales alone. In addition, even more donations were given bringing the total funds raised to $32,775.

The goal was set at $20,000 in order to pay for an aquatic pool lift for the HCHC Rehabilitation and Therapy Services patients, and a specialized microscope for Ear, Nose and Throat surgeries at HCHC. The excess amount was put towards the purchase of an additional hospital bed for the Inpatient Services Department at HCHC.

Special Thanks to all our sponsors: Iowa Wesleyan University, Family Medicine of Mount Pleasant, The Steffes Group, Jean C. Wiley and Sons Building and Remodeling along with Wiley’s Interior Furnishings and Design, Pilot Grove Savings Bank, Burlington Trailways, and Great River Health.
