Education Access & Quality

You Matter!

Health starts in our families, neighborhoods, schools and jobs.

Did you know that your quality of life started when you were born and is impacted by where you live, learn, work and play? Your environment, which includes economic stability, can directly impact your overall health and well-being.

Children lacking quality education are at a disadvantage for success in school and are less likely to pursue education after high school. Safe, higher income jobs are more difficult to obtain and they are more likely to have health problems like chronic diseases. Providing high-quality educational opportunities is vital. People with higher levels of education are more likely to be healthier and live longer.

The Social Determinants of Health information is from Healthy People 2030, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. For more information, visit: https://health.gov/healthypeople/objectives-and-data/social-determinants-health
