Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center - Fort Madison and West Burlington
provide inpatient care for Adult Behavioral Health patients.
Fort Madison is a 12-bed unit; West Burlington is an 8-bed unit.
These units are open to patients 18 and older.
Goal
Our number one priority here is stabilization of thoughts, emotions and
behaviors for adults. That’s why our dedicated team of psychiatric
healthcare professionals work together to renew social, physical, and
mental well-being.
Admittance
Patients must present to their nearest Emergency Department for a comprehensive
evaluation by our Behavioral Health Assessment Team who will identify
and treat medical conditions that may be contributing to psychiatric symptoms.
If the patient is found to be medically stable and appropriate for admission
to the unit, they will be placed in the appropriate facility for the level
of care needed.
