'Welcome to Medicare' seminars offered at Great River Medical Center

The Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) will present three “Welcome to Medicare” seminars this summer at Great River Medical Center. They will include introductions to Medicare Parts A and B, Medicare Advantage, Part D prescription drug coverage and Medicare supplement insurance.

The seminars are scheduled at:

  • 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 13
  • 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15
  • 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12

The seminars are in the Oak Room on the lower level of the hospital. The address is 1221 S. Gear Ave., West Burlington, Iowa. Reservations are required. Please call (319) 768-3342.

SHIIP is a free, confidential service of the State of Iowa that provides unbiased information to help Iowans make decisions about Medicare and other health coverage. People should enroll in Medicare as soon as they turn 65. The 2017 Part D enrollment period is from Sunday, Oct. 15, through Thursday, Dec. 7.
