Great River Health Systems offers free program about menopause and heart disease

Red Hot Mamas, a free educational series for menopausal women, is coming to Great River Health System. At 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, interventional cardiologist Abdullah Alwahdani, M.D., will present “The Beat Goes On!” – an informative program about heart disease and menopause.

Dr. Alwahdani will discuss the latest information about the relation between menopause and heart disease, including:

  • Available treatments
  • How to treat the effects through lifestyle strategies and choices
  • The short- and long-term effects menopause may have on the heart
