Orthopaedic Appointments
Schedule One with Great River Orthopaedic Specialists Today

Most patients come to Great River Orthopaedic Specialists because they
were referred by another provider who felt their conditions needed the
attention of a specialist. All spine patients must be referred. A few
other patients come as self-referrals. Some health insurance companies
require a referral by another physician. You should check your policy
to be sure.
To Make an Appointment
Call (319) 768-4970, or toll-free (877) 752-4555, to make an appointment.
We don't accept walk-in appointments.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call during
office hours. We appreciate knowing if you will miss an appointment because
it helps us better serve all our patients.
Arriving for Your Appointment
When you make an appointment, we will mail paperwork to complete. Besides
the completed paperwork, please bring:
- A list of medicines you are taking. Include the name and dose of prescription
and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal and other supplements.
Be sure to update your medicine list every time there is a change, and
give a copy to each physician’s office when you visit.
-
X-rays, MRI studies or other reports related to your injury from other
physicians, clinics or hospitals.
If you do not bring the films, we may need to reschedule your appointment.
- Your insurance card(s) so we can make copies. Please be prepared to make
your co-payment during your visit.
During the Appointment
During your examination, our medical staff will ask you questions and perform
tests to evaluate your condition. Some additional diagnostic tests may
be ordered. If the provider needs additional X-rays, we will take them
in the Great River Orthopaedic Specialists office. Your provider will
develop a treatment plan with you.
